‘Europe is starting to feel the danger‘ — Thierry Henry warns rivals after Barcelona thrash Newcastle

FC Barcelona once again showcased their brilliance as they returned to the UEFA Champions League to take on Newcastle United in the second leg of their Round of 16 tie. The Catalans scored 7 goals in that game, winning the tie 8-3 on aggregate.

This performance has once again highlighted why the Blaugrana side is one of the favorites to win the UCL this season. Several commentators spoke highly of the Barcelona team, but as SPORT has reported, one of the most notable pieces of this praise came from none other than their former forward Thierry Henry.

Analyzing his former team’s outing in this game, the Frenchman said:

“What happened isn’t a win, it’s a global earthquake. It was a night that will go down in history.”

Henry was particularly full of praise for the team’s performance in the second half:

“What a second half is this? A total transformation… a different personality… a lethal decision.”

The Frenchman continued with his praise:

“This is the real Barcelona… When they want to, they do everything. They are an incredible team. You watch them play and think: ‘Wow, they look so convincing!’ Then you see them at home, and it’s like… It’s like we have the Johan Cruyff Dream Team back!”

The former Barcelona forward believed it is impossible to stop Barcelona when they play like this:

“Newcastle completely collapsed under this offensive flow. Stopping Barcelona like this? It’s nearly impossible!”

Henry explained what changed in the second half:

“The difference is clear… In the second half, they played calmly, patiently, and intelligently. The result was a terrible and irresistible offensive exhibition.”

Overall, the French legend believed Europe is now feeling danger from the Blaugranes:

“This is the face of Barcelona under Hansi Flick. We will outscore them, no matter what happens. When a team lights up, it leaves nothing behind. Congratulations, Barcelona… Europe is starting to feel the danger.”

Thierry Henry gave quite a compelling analysis of the performance put in by Barcelona in this game. Hopefully, the team will continue to play at this level going forward as well, and continue amazing the fans and the spectators with their performances.
