Versatile England Women's star Rachel Daly has announced her retirement from international football.
The Aston Villa forward made a farewell appearance on Tuesday night during her country's 2-0 win over the Republic of Ireland in Dublin.
And in the wake of that game, she has now confirmed her decision to hang up her boots after winning 84 caps in an eight-year span.
Daly also netted 16 times for the Lionesses and was a member of the victorious European Championship winning squad, shining in a defensive role.
"I'd love nothing more than to play for England forever but the time has come for me to hang my boots up," she stated.
"While today is extremely difficult for me, it is also a day filled with reflection and immense gratitude. Playing for and representing England has been a privilege."
The 32-year-old also claimed a runners-up medal at last year's World Cup.
