Manchester United Women’s boss Eva Olid has already made an impression at the club.

Time so far

The Spanish coach joined the club at the start of this month after it was announced that Marc Skinner had left the club.

Olid has inspired fans with her motivational approach to football and her tactical detail.

She achieved great success at Heart of Midlothian in Scotland, winning the league title last season, and will hope to replicate her achievements south of the border.

The Red Devils have drawn one and lost two of their pre-season matches so far, but they are clearly trying to implement a new style of football at the club.

Olid also has a reputation for giving opportunities to youngsters, and this pre-season has already seen significant involvement for the likes of Layla Drury, Jessica Anderson, and Emma Watson, to name just a few young players vying for more influence this season.

Inspiring next generation

The club’s official website has reported that, “Manchester United Women head coach Eva Olid has spent time inspiring the club’s next generation of young players this week”

The site adds, “United Women’s new boss, who started her role earlier this month, was present at training sessions for our Under-11s, Under-12s, Under-13s and Under-14s girls on Wednesday.”

Olid was also present for the Under-21s victory away to Stockport County in the National League Cup.

The Under-16s grabbed their second cup of the summer after winning at the Super Cup NI in July.

They also won the JPL Peer 2 Peer title and will be excited that Olid is clearly paying such close attention to their progress.

This season will be intriguing for numerous reasons but it will be fascinating to see just how big a role some of United’s academy graduates play at the Progress with Unity Stadium this season.
