Evan Ferguson opened up about his journey at Roma in a lengthy interview with Sport Bible, offering a firsthand look at his adjustment, the challenges he faced, and his future ambitions.

The Irish striker candidly described his impact on the Giallorossi and his daily work under Gasperini, emphasizing how the adaptation process requires time, patience, and consistency.

On working with Gasperini, Ferguson remarked on the coach’s intensity, “I remember arriving for preseason training, about a week after the boys had their first week. When everyone came back from training, they were exhausted. It’s tough. Every day is a succession of activities. You always move on to the next phase, doing more and more. It’s really very demanding.”

“It’s not easy to arrive in a new place and hit the ground running. It’s a completely different league, with different styles of play. I think when you arrive, people expect things to happen immediately, but that’s not how it works. It took time. There were ups and downs, but now I’d say I’ve settled in pretty well. I’m in a good place both physically and mentally, and I know where I stand mentally. I’m ready to build on what I’ve achieved so far.”

“Everything is positive at the moment. I think we’re having a good time as a team. It’s not just me. As a team, we’re in a good position, and I think we’re finding some rhythm and momentum now. We’ll see where it takes us and keep moving forward.”

“The future? I haven’t thought about it. I think we have to take it one step at a time. You can’t think about what you’ll do next year. I’m here right now, and that’s it. I’ll try to keep working as long as I’m here.”
