Evander ‘could join’ Botafogo | OneFootball

According to PaponaColina, Botafogo have shown interest in signing attacking midfielder Evander, 27, who is currently with Cincinnati in the United States.

He has been on the club’s radar since the end of last season.

A Vasco da Gama academy graduate, Evander said late last year he wanted to return to Brazilian football, though no negotiations advanced at that time.

He is under contract at Cincinnati until the end of 2027 and has 75 direct goal involvements in his last 92 MLS matches.

Last season he was named in the MLS team of the year and in 2025 he is set to continue at Cincinnati, where he has established himself as a leading figure.

Before that move, he endured a turbulent spell at Portland Timbers, apologising after a 5-0 defeat to Vancouver Whitecaps and criticising the hierarchy for not keeping their word.
