In an interview with Téléfoot, Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Warren Zaïre-Emery (18) was asked how he feels about the recent criticism he has received.
The France international midfielder broke onto the scene with the Ligue 1 champions last term. Zaïre-Emery was a revelation and instantly became a hit with fans of his boyhood club. Luis Enrique, a big fan of the midfielder, offered him regular opportunities and the 18-year-old became an important side of the PSG side that would eventually lift another top-flight trophy. The midfielder’s impressive displays even saw him handed his international debut at the age of 17.
However, fast-forward to this term, Zaïre-Emery’s start to the 2024/25 season has been much slower and has seen him receive some criticism. The former France U21 international has received regular minutes under Luis Enrique but has been unable to have the same impact as last season.
Responding to his critics, the PSG midfielder said, “Criticism? There will always be some. When I see that even Cristiano Ronaldo is criticized when there is nothing to say about the player… It is up to me to work and ignore everything that is on social networks.”
