Kylian Mbappé’s (25) Paris Saint-Germain departure seems an inevitability but, according to Barcelona forward Robert Lewandowski (35), Les Parisiens’ future success does not depend solely on the France captain’s future.

Bar a spectacular change of mind, Mbappé WILL leave PSG this summer, two years after rejecting Real Madrid to remain at the Parc des Princes. However, his contract expires at the end of the season and he has already informed president Nasser Al-Khelaifi that he will not be renewing.

Mbappé’s decision certainly sent alarm bells ringing in the French capital, but according to Lewandowski, there is no cause for panic. “They have two or three attacking players that have improved a lot. Their transfer strategy has changed a bit too and I think that PSG have their future in front of them, even if Kylian leaves,” began Lewandowski, in an exclusive interview with Le Parisien.

He added, “I think that the club will continue to be in the Champions League and will still be dangerous for all teams in Europe.” Despite utilising Mbappé sparsely in recent weeks, PSG sauntered to their third consecutive title and as they prepare to face Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday, they have the chance to compete in their second UEFA Champions League final in just four years.
