Concern has gripped the Everton FC camp on the eve of their trip to Brighton. Jack Grealish is suffering from a serious knee injury, a situation that could seriously jeopardise the remainder of his season in a Toffees shirt.

Speaking at a press conference, David Moyes acknowledged the severity of the diagnosis while leaving some uncertainty hanging in the air.

"We believe Jack Grealish is probably going to need surgery. That's still not absolutely confirmed, but it probably rules him out for the rest of the season," he admitted.

Having joined last summer on loan from Manchester City, Grealish had become a key figure in Everton's midfield. Any potential surgery would dramatically call into question the momentum of his spell on Merseyside.
