In a recent report, journalist Graeme Bailey mentioned that Everton are facing stiff competition for Sheffield United youngster Daniel Jebbison this summer. It has been claimed that the Toffees would have to rival Leeds United, Brighton and Hove Albion, Ipswich Town and Leicester City in the race to land the Canadian striker later this year.

Jebbison has come through the youth ranks of Sheffield United and has done well to break into their first team. The 20-year-old has already made 35 senior appearances for the Blades thus far, scoring three goals and securing one assist in multiple competitions.

The Canadian whizkid has caught the eye at times with his performances at Bramall Lane and is currently one of the best young players in his homeland. Therefore, it makes sense for the Toffees to pursue someone with his potential this summer.

Jebbison’s current contract at Sheffield United will run out at the end of this month which could open the door for Everton to sign him on a free transfer this summer.

Jebbison can find some space for himself to get a few strikes in at goal. He can be a good finisher in the final third when he is playing well on the pitch. However, the English talent is still quite raw and has to find a way to be more consistent with his scoring in front of the opposition goal.

Jebbison has got very little experience in Premier League football, so Everton would have to be patient with his development if they want to unlock the best out of the gifted forward at Goodison Park in the long run.

Jebbison will no doubt enhance the quality of the Merseyside club’s squad. He might even help the Toffees compete across all fronts in the coming years. Hence, he would be well worth the fight as long as Everton are prepared to give him a regular run of games to prove his worth in Premier League football next season.

At 20, the Canadian striker’s ceiling is quite high which makes him a worthy target for the Toffees to consider this summer.
