Everton Boosted As Linked Attacker ‘Just An Idea’ For Serie A Club For Now | OneFootball

Everton may well not have to face competition from Italian heavyweights Napoli for Gabriel Jesus, as the Arsenal striker is ‘just an idea’ for the Azzurri at the moment.

Jesus’ future at the Emirates Stadium is uncertain this summer, as Arsenal look at further changes to a squad that won the Premier League last season.

Everton, who are in the market to add more cutting edge in attack, have asked about potentially signing Jesus and are admirers.

There has recently been interest in Jesus from Italian giants Napoli and they would make for formidable opponents for Everton in the race for the Arsenal man.

However, it is far from clear Napoli will firm up their interest in Jesus as there are competing priorities in southern Italy.

According to Italian journalist Damiano Er Faina, Jesus is ‘just an idea’ for Napoli at the moment, with other attackers ahead of him on their list.

Dusan Vlahovic is a striker that Napoli have ahead of Jesus, but president Aurelio De Laurentiis is currently more focused on moving players out than in.

If Romelu Lukaku departs Napoli, then the club could think about replacing him, with Jesus amongst the possibilities.

For Everton, that opens up a window of opportunity to move for Jesus without competition from Napoli, though it remains to be seen if they will do so.

Jesus arrived at the Emirates Stadium from fellow Premier League side Manchester City in 2022, but has endured a difficult time at the club due to several injuries.

Last term, the 29-year-old made only 14 Premier League appearances, with only three starts, and managed to score just three goals.

Everton have just done business with Arsenal by snapping up midfielder Christian Norgaard for a fee of £7m.

With the lines of communication open between the Hill Dickinson and the Emirates, all eyes will be on whether David Moyes makes a firm approach for Jesus before the transfer window slams shut at the start of September,
