A penalty conceded by goalkeeper Edouard Mendy and converted by Everton's Gylfi Sigurdsson separated the two teams.

Ancelotti said, "Really satisfied. For the first time we had the supporters in the stadium and we were pleased for this. The performance, spirit was really good. We defended really well and then we used our ability on the counter-attack and in the end we deserved the win.

"We look for the clean sheets, we had only a clean sheet in the first game against Tottenham. It is quite strange, Tottenham have fantastic strikers, Chelsea too. That means concentration is important when you want to reach a clean sheet.

"We had some problems, we were not able to reach the levels of the earlier games. We lost our belief a little bit but after the game against Manchester United the performance was better.

"Gylfi Sigurdsson is very good on the penalties, he is cold and our penalty taker. There was a misunderstanding in the second half and his performance apart from the penalty was top.

"Frank Lampard was good player and a fantastic manager, he is doing a fantastic job. He is young but he is doing really well. Chelsea are playing really good football."
