Everton manager David Moyes has said the club are interested in signing Liam Delap from Ipswich Town this summer.
Delap has been a silver lining in a difficult season for Ipswich, who will play Championship football next term after relegation from the Premier League. The 22-year-old has scored 12 league goals in a struggling side to attract interest from numerous top-flight clubs.
Delap can be signed for a fee of £30m, due to a relegation release clause in his contract. Speaking ahead of Everton’s draw with Ipswich on Saturday, Moyes said he would pursue a deal for Delap is there was mutual interest in the move.
However, the Scot accepted that Delap is unlikely to be short of suitors following an impressive campaign at Portman Road.
“He would be one who we would certainly have an interest in,” Moyes said.
“I think what he probably has to look at will probably be bigger than what we are. So, we would certainly be interested if he was interested in us. That’s for sure.”
Everton are expected to enter the market for a centre-forward with only the three relegated sides having scored less goals than the Toffees in 2024/25. Beto and Iliman Ndiaye are the club’s joint-leading scorers in the Premier League on just seven goals.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin is also out of contract in the summer with no news on a potential extension for the forward.
