Everton have held talks with the entourage of Stade Reims winger Keito Nakamura over a potential summer move, according to the BBC.
Nakamura has an agreement with Reims allowing him to leave for a top-flight club for around £21.5 million this summer.
The 26-year-old Everton target is keen on a move to the Premier League, with Bournemouth and Fulham also interested.
The attacker played four games at the World Cup, scoring a goal in the 2-2 draw against the Netherlands and adding an assist in Japan’s 4-0 demolition of Tunisia.
He was named in Opta’s team of the group stage and would be a shrewd addition for Everton.
However, the Toffees would need to sell players before making a concrete move. Thierno Barry and Beto have been linked with summer exits.
The Toffees could do with Nakamura’s pace in the final third, and his ability to cut inside and shoot would also come in handy.
He is looking to play in a top-flight league after his club failed in their attempt to seal an immediate return to Ligue 1 following relegation at the end of 2024-25.
Everton will continue to monitor his situation and could swoop in the coming weeks.
