Everton fans will be excited about Alan Myers’ comments on January transfer plans

Everton are in a precarious position in the Premier League, sitting just two places and three points above the drop zone.

This has been a recurring theme for the Toffees in recent years. They have been involved in survival battles, and this season doesn’t look to be any different.

The Toffees made a catastrophic start to the season, losing their opening four games. Sean Dyche tried to steady the ship, and Everton picked up two crucial wins.

However, it appears that Everton have run out of ideas once again, as they picked up two draws and a defeat from their past three games.

Dyche is probably lucky that he still retains the job. The Friedkins are already making headlines in Italy after sacking AS Roma manager Ivan Juric.

They are unlikely to accept Everton’s tendency to slip into mediocrity once they get the full ownership rights.

Nevertheless, the Toffees have already started planning for the January transfer window.

Alan Myers shares Everton transfer update

The Toffees signed seven players this summer. Orel Mangala, Armando Broja and Jesper Lindstrom joined on loan, while Asmir Begovic returned to his old club on a free transfer.

Tim Iroegbunam, Iliman Ndiaye and Jake O’Brien joined from Aston Villa, Marseille and Lyon respectively on permanent deals.

Of the new players, only Mangala and Ndiaye have really impressed.

Alan Myers says that while he doesn’t have concrete names of those who are being targeted, he can confirm that transfer plans are in place, and the Toffees will at least look to sign two players in January.

Everton fans should be excited about this little update

The Toffees need to stay in the Premier League, as they are about to enter into a new era under a new regime.

The Friedkins are expected to take full control of the club at some point in the next few months, and there’s more reason to celebrate as Everton will be moving to a new stadium next season.

The new owners are unlikely to spend lavishly straightaway, especially when the side is struggling badly, but Dyche will get help to make the squad better.

The Toffees could look to add a quality striker and a reliable left-back to their ranks, but as Myers said, it’s too early to predict at the moment.
