Everton forward Kelly Gago has signed a new three-year contract with the club.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Toffees this morning.

The 26-year-old attacker joined Everton from French club FC Nantes in the January transfer window and she made an immediate impact on Merseyside. Gago netted five goals for Everton, bolstering a forward line that had previously found goals hard to come by.

Gago could become one of the Barclays Women’s Super League’s most-feared forwards in the coming seasons with the player now contracted to Everton for three more years.

After signing on again with Everton, Gago said “I am so proud to represent Everton every time I step out on the pitch. It was an amazing feeling to hear the fans sing my name at Walton Hall Park – it is going to be even better at our new home Goodison Park.

“I want to get on the scoresheet as many times as possible and help the team achieve its goals. I am really excited by the project that we are building and have had positive talks with Brian [Sørensen] about the future of this club.”

Gago is the fifth player to sign a contract extension with Everton this summer.
