Everton have made a bid for Manchester United striker Joshua Zirkzee, according to Alan Myers.
Everton manager David Moyes wants to strengthen his attack following Beto’s exit from the Hill Dickinson Stadium club.
A move for AS Monaco’s Folarin Balogun could fall through due to a failed medical, and the Toffees are looking elsewhere.
Zirkzee appears to be surplus to requirements at Man United and was close to joining Juventus.
However, the Old Lady opted to sign another forward and the Netherlands international forward is still available.
Everton are now hoping to get a deal for Zirkzee over the line before the 11 pm deadline tonight.
The 25-year-old will be desperate to prove himself elsewhere after struggling at Man United since joining from Bologna.
The Toffees target bagged 12 goals in 37 games in 2023-24 but has notched nine goals in 75 appearances across two seasons with the Red Devils.
Moyes will fancy his chances of getting the Dutchman to start firing on all cylinders again and a late deal could be on the cards.
Everton are still hoping they can sign Balogun, and it promises to be an interesting end to the summer transfer window on Merseyside.
The club need quality attacking firepower to boost their chances of qualifying for Europe this season, and the fans will hope to get a deal done tonight.
