Everton have launched an enquiry for highly rated striker Christian Kofane, according to Matteo Moretto.

The Toffees have maintained a long-standing interest in the 20-year-old forward, closely monitoring his rapid rise since his breakout spell with Spanish side Albacete.

After Leverkusen triggered his release clause in July 2025, Kofane enjoyed a promising debut campaign in Germany, netting seven goals across all competitions, including a memorable strike against PSV Eindhoven that made him Leverkusen’s youngest-ever UEFA Champions League goalscorer.

With manager David Moyes eager to bolster Everton’s attack, Kofane has emerged as a primary target.

The 6ft 2in striker is regarded as an explosive presence, possessing sharp movement inside the penalty area and impressive link-up play.

The player’s representatives were spotted at Finch Farm for exploratory talks with Everton.

While European heavyweights such as Arsenal and Barcelona have also monitored the Cameroonian international, Everton are aiming to move to the front of the queue.

Bayer Leverkusen currently value the young forward at around €70m, having tied him to a long-term contract until 2029.

The German club would ideally prefer to retain one of their top young assets ahead of another European campaign next season, but a significant offer could change their stance.

With just under a month left in the summer window, Everton are stepping up their recruitment drive.

The Merseysiders, who recently agreed a deal to sign Arsenal’s Christian Norgaard, are also keen to bring back Jack Grealish after a loan spell.
