Everton are currently in talks with Chelsea to sign English winger Tyrique George, according to The Athletic.

The ‘brave‘ forward impressed on loan last term, and Everton manager David Moyes wants him in a permanent move.

The Toffees did not take up the £25 million option to make George’s loan move permanent and are looking to pay less up front.

However, add-ons will take the final package close to the £25m the Stamford Bridge club wants.

Discussions between both clubs are going well and could be concluded by the end of this week.

The ‘very good‘ George made 11 league appearances for Everton in the second half of last season and is open to the move after struggling for regular playing chances at Chelsea.

The 20-year-old played just four times in the first half of the season, and the Toffees are offering him more.

Moyes loves his versatility as he can play on both wings and as a number nine.

The Merseyside club have already secured an agreement to sign Middlesbrough midfielder Hayden Hackney, and they could announce two new additions this week.

George did not score or assist during his loan stint at Everton, but they are convinced he can make an impact for them in attack next season.

More additions are expected in the final third as one or two players could be leaving, and Moyes will be keen to sign players capable of improving his squad.
