Everton are interested in signing Eintracht Frankfurt attacker Jean-Matteo Bahoya, according to The Guardian journalist Ed Aarons.
Toffees manager David Moyes wants reinforcements in the final third at the Hill Dickinson Stadium club.
Bahoya, the Bundesliga’s fastest player, has emerged as a target for Everton, but the 21-year-old Frenchman has other Premier League clubs keeping tabs on him.
His pace is not only his biggest strength, his ability to get past players is another major strength.
The Everton target completed 2.78 take-ons per 90 last season, more than 94 per cent of the wingers in Europe’s top five leagues.
Bahoya is not only brilliant at passing, dribbling and finishing, but he also boasts impressive defensive contribution.
He is excellent at winning duels and making interceptions, ranking in the top 11 per cent for duels won per 90 (8.9) and top 10 per cent for interceptions per 90 (0.88) among wingers in Europe’s top five leagues last season.
He also tackles well, ranking in the top 13 per cent among wingers in Europe’s top five leagues last season for tackles per 90 (2.1).
Bahoya was involved in seven Bundesliga goals last term and Moyes will hope he becomes better in front of goal should he join the Toffees.
Burnley forward Zian Flemming, Como attacker Assane Diao and Tottenham Hotspur’s Richarlison have been recently linked with Everton.
More players are likely to emerge as targets in the remaining days of the summer transfer window, and the fans will hope the club make a signing.
