Everton have ‘made a verbal offer’ to Galatasaray for Baris Alper Yilmaz in an attempt to accelerate a deal for the winger.

David Moyes’ side brought winger Tyrique George back from Chelsea earlier this summer after his temporary spell at the Hill Dickinson last season.

George though made only a limited impact last term and is unlikely to be the attacking game changer Everton need.

The Toffees are also hoping to bring Manchester City star Jack Grealish back to Merseyside to add further depth to their wide ranks, but that deal could be expensive.

Everton have also recently welcomed Brennan Johnson into their attack, snapping up the winger in a swap deal that sent Dwight McNeil to Crystal Palace.

The Merseyside outfit have also checked out a potential deal for Assane Diao as they look to lure the winger away from Italy where he is playing for Como.

Galatasaray’s Yilmaz has also entered Everton’s thinking, with Tottenham Hotspur having developed an interest in the winger as well.

There have been suggestions that Galatasaray would not block Yilmaz’s departure should a suitor meet the valuation they have placed on his services.

Everton have now moved to give their pursuit greater substance and ‘made a verbal offer’ to Galatasaray for Yilmaz, according to Turkish outlet Fanatik.

The Toffees have placed €35m plus €5m in bonuses as their verbal offer, although it is yet to become clear whether that will be enough to satisfy the Cimbom.

There have been indications that Galatasaray are holding out for €50m for the winger, while Yilmaz has two years remaining on his contract in Istanbul, strengthening the Yellow Reds hand in negotiations.

It also remains to be seen whether Spurs will make their interest concrete, with the north London outfit currently concentrating on other wing targets in Liverpool star Cody Gakpo and Manchester City star Savinho.

Whether Everton can get the Yilmaz deal over the line with their current proposal should become clearer in the coming days.
