Everton on track to complete Kenny Tete signing from Fulham | OneFootball

Everton are on track to complete the signing of Kenny Tete from Fulham, in a deal worth around £nine million, though a medical and final details remain outstanding.

The Athletic reported earlier on Sunday that Everton were considering a move for the 30-year-old right-back.

Tete was an unused substitute in Fulham’s opening-day 3-2 defeat to Chelsea, when Timothy Castagne started at right-back, then he began the Carabao Cup win over AFC Wimbledon.

He has made 144 appearances for Fulham since arriving from Lyon in 2020 and has two years left on his terms, with a 12-month extension option held by the club.

Everton want a new right-back for David Moyes’ squad after club captain Seamus Coleman, aged 37, left this summer, and with Scotland international Nathan Patterson almost certain to follow. Patterson is currently the only specialist right-back.

Patterson, signed from Rangers in January 2022 for about £11 million, has struggled for form and fitness and has spent the past couple of years on the periphery.

Merlin Rohl, a central midfielder, has started at right-back in all three of Everton’s matches this season, including Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Bournemouth. Jake O’Brien can also operate there, though the centre-back’s future is uncertain because he wants regular minutes in his preferred position.

Elsewhere, Everton are in talks to re-sign Jack Grealish on loan from Manchester City. They have reached an agreement in principle to sell Iliman Ndiaye to Tottenham Hotspur and to buy Richarlison back from the north London club.
