Everton see Manchester City full-back Kyle Walker as a ‘potential signing’ this summer as they look to boost their defensive options, according to journalist Mike McGrath.

Heading into the new Hill Dickinson Stadium, Everton want to make a splash and David Moyes could be in for a summer of heavy recruitment.

Full-back is an area where Everton are expected to be busy and it has already been confirmed that Ashley Young is leaving the club.

Now Everton are looking to Manchester City’s Walker as a possible signing as he would slot in at right-back.

Walker spent the second half of the season on loan at AC Milan and Manchester City will allow him to depart the Etihad this summer.

The full-back does have interest from Turkey in the shape of Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce, who are keen to snap him up.

Everton though would represent an option which would keep Walker in the Premier League and also in the north west.

Signing Walker would free up Jake O’Brien for centre-back duty for Everton, with Moyes having often deployed him at right-back when needed.

Walker, 35, made eleven appearances in Serie A for AC Milan during his loan stint, as the Rossoneri finished eighth and missed out on European football.

He did also play for AC Milan in both legs of their Champions League knockout round tie against Feyenoord.

Walker has clocked over 400 appearances in the Premier League and would represent a hugely experienced option for Everton.

Having had Young on the books, along with Seamus Coleman, Everton have shown they appreciate experience and Walker could now fit the bill.
