Everton have signed a lucrative sponsorship agreement with financial services firm CMC Markets that could take their earnings from their shirt deals to more than £20m a year.
CMC Markets will become Everton’s shirt sponsor in a multi-year partnership that will earn the Merseyside club around 30 percent more than their previous deal.
Everton’s new sleeve deal, with their previous front-of-shirt sponsor Stake, is also around 30 percent bigger than before, giving a boost to manager David Moyes as he is looking to strengthen his team.
Everton have pledged to invest the revenue in the squad and they are trying to sign Hayden Hackney from Middlesbrough and Tyrique George from Chelsea.
The Merseyside club are close to agreeing a deal for midfielder Hackney, who was voted the best player in the Championship last season. A long-term target of Moyes, he wants to join Everton.
Winger George spent the second half of last season on loan at Hill Dickinson Stadium and, while that deal contained an option to buy the England Under-21 international for £25m, Everton are in talks with Chelsea as they look to negotiate a lower fee.
Besides CMC Markets and Stake, Everton have agreed a series of sponsorship deals in the last year, including with Hill Dickinson for the naming rights to their £800m stadium.
