Everton defender James Tarkowski has ended his lengthy wait for a goal with the opener against his former club Burnley.

The Toffees snatched a lead over the relegation-threatened side at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Tuesday evening, courtesy of the centre-back.
James Garner looped in a dangerous cross from a free-kick and Tarkowski rose the highest to head it into the back of the net.
It was Tarkowski's first goal for Everton in over a year as he last struck for the Toffees in February last year with a last-gasp equaliser against bitter rivals Liverpool.
The goal also comes again his former club, who he represented for six years between 2016 and 2022 before he joined Everton as a free agent.
