Pep Guardiola’s men could be six points behind the Gunners before even kicking a ball as the north London outfit play Fulham on Saturday.

That would leave City with two games in hand on the current league leaders.

City are on a win streak that has resulted in them reeling in Arsenal’s nine-point lead at the summit, and Guardiola’s side topped the tree momentarily after their 1-0 win at Burnley.

Now, they have a banana skin trip to Merseyside against an Everton side that will not give up on European qualification, however slim their hopes might be after a late 2-1 defeat at West Ham.

Everton vs Man City is scheduled for an 8pm BST kick-off on Monday, May 4, 2026.

The match will take place at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Everton vs Man City team news

The Toffees were always going to be without their star loanee Jack Grealish, who has been ruled out for the rest of the campaign with a stress fracture in his foot.

The attacking midfielder would have been ineligible for this fixture regardless, as he would have been facing his parent club.

Elsewhere for the Toffees, defender Jarrad Branthwaite saw his campaign come to an end after his hamstring injury in the Merseyside derby defeat.

Beto missed the loss at West Ham with concussion, but should be back in contention here.

For City, the main absentees are Rodri, Ruben Dias and Josko Gvardiol.

There are question marks over the 2024 Ballon d’Or winner, with the Spaniard suffering a groin problem in the 2-1 win over Arsenal.

He sat out at Turf Moor and then the FA Cup semi-final, and questions will be asked about whether he will feature any time soon.

As for Dias, there is hope the Portuguese will return before the end of the season, while Gvardiol is out longer term with a broken leg.

This is a tricky test for City, who will have their attentions split between the Premier League and the upcoming FA Cup final against Chelsea.

Guardiola, however, will ensure that his players are focused on the task at hand, and that, in the short term, is on Everton.

They created plentiful chances but were wasteful at Burnley, and they will need to show more of a ruthlessness here to earn all three points.

Man City to win, 2-1.
