Evertton Araújo cements place at Flamengo months after asking to stay | OneFootball

Evertton Araújo marked his 100th Flamengo appearance after coming on late in a 2-0 win over Vitória at the Maracanã on Sunday, underlining his expanded role this season.

According to Globo.com, Grêmio made a formal approach in December, but Flamengo chose not to enter talks, judging the 23-year-old had scope to play more in 2026.

He has already featured in 35 matches in 2026, and replaced Jorginho on Sunday. He said it was special for him and his family, adding that since arriving in 2022, after his under-20 year, he feels he is progressing.
