The UEFA Champions League may be over for another season, but the next one is right around the corner.
The first qualifying round for the 2026/27 campaign will take place on 16th June, which at the time of writing is a little over two weeks away.
81 clubs will enter in the competition next season, but only 36 of them will compete in the league phase, which sees every team play eight matches to vye for a spot in the knockout rounds.
The top eight teams will go straight to the round of 16, while the next 16 best teams will enter the play-offs.
Both the Premier League and La Liga have been granted an extra spot in next season’s Champions League due to their performances in last season’s tournament.
Champions Path: Viking Stavanger, AEK Athens, LASK, Celtic.
League Phase: Lyon, NEC Nijmegen, Union-Saint-Gilloise, Bodø-Glimt, Sparta Prague, Olympiacos.
Champions Path: Lech Poznan, Omonia, Slovan Bratislava, Aarhus, Mjällby AIF, Celje, Thun, Dinamo Zagreb, Hapoel Be’er Sheva.
League Path: Fenerbahce, Sturm Graz, Hearts, Gornik Zabrze.
Seeded teams: Shamrock Rovers, KuPS, Drita, Lincoln Red Imps, Borac Banja Luka, Vikingur Reykjavik, Kairat Almaty, Universitatea Craiova, Riga, KÍ Klaksvík, Flora, Larne, Petrocub Hîncești, The New Saints.
Unseeded teams: Inter Club d’Escaldes, Levski Sofia, Ararat-Armenia, Sabah, Kauno Žalgiris, Sutjeska, ETOGyör, Iberia 1999, Egnatia, Floriana, Tre Fiori, Vardar, ML Vitebsk, Atert Bissen.
