Everything in place for Liverpool to sign their next Sadio Mané

Liverpool are in a brilliant position to sign the next Sadio Mané. We're crossing our fingers.

Sadio Mané was unquestionably one of the greatest to ever play for Liverpool. His arrival in 2016 helped transform the team, giving them the kind of output and pace they need - and lacked - on the flank.

Well, 10 years later the situation is very similar. Liverpool have some great attacking players but lack pace, while their output from wide areas has taken a massive hit with Mohamed Salah leaving the club.

Pace, trickery, and goals are the orders of the day. The dream is that Rio Ngumoha can offer that from the left but there's little doubt that Liverpool need some from their right - especially without Salah.

So one option we're continuously banging on about is Ibrahim Mbaye. The Paris Saint-Germain star is expected to leave this summer, with Fabrizio Romano essentially confirming that on Friday.

Liverpool supposedly have an interest in the winger, too. That's music to our ears as Mbaye is probably the biggest talent that the Reds could sign this summer.

The 18-year-old starred at the World Cup for Senegal, scoring against his native France to become the youngest African goalscorer in tournament history. There's little doubt, in other words, that he can deliver against top opposition.

And Mbaye wants to start showing that on a regular basis at the elite level. Liverpool are beautifully placed to let him demonstrate that, as a top team with a clear need for a right-winger.

Not only that, but the clear development path alongside Rio Ngumoha offers the kind of wing parternship that teams dream of. And Liverpool know full well how dangerous a wing partnership like that can be, having boasted one of the greatest we've ever seen in Mané and Salah.

Liverpool now have chance to develop a new one, albeit from a far younger age. Including the next-big-thing for the Senegal national team and Mané's clear successor, no less.

Make it happen.
