Former AC Milan goalkeeper Dida has waxed lyrical about resurgent Inter Milan superstar Piotr Zielinski, naming him the best midfielder in Serie A.

During his recent interview in Warsaw via FCInterNews, the Brazilian hailed Zielinski’s remarkable transformation under Cristian Chivu.

Despite joining Inter as one of the finest playmakers in Serie A back in 2024, Piotr Zielinski struggled in his first season at San Siro.

Indeed, former manager Simone Inzaghi never showed enough faith in the 31-year-old, sparking rumors about his potential exit last summer.

However, Cristian Chivu has turned Zielinski’s fortunes around since taking over the reins.

In addition to convincing the ex-Napoli star to stay, he has made him central to his project this season.

Zielinski has repaid Chivu’s trust with a string of outstanding performances, establishing himself as a key cog in Inter’s midfield.

For perspective, he has tallied six goals and two assists in 38 appearances across all competitions.

Zielinski’s role has become essential during Hakan Calhanoglu’s lengthy spell on the sidelines.

Indeed, the Polish ace has excelled as a deep-lying playmaker, barely allowing the 32-year-old’s absence to be felt.

Meanwhile, Dida seems to have recognized Zielinski’s importance to Chivu’s tactics and Inter’s Scudetto push.

“We can say that he is one of the best midfielders in Serie A,” the former goalkeeper said. “The most important thing is for him to maintain this level of form for as long as possible.

“It’s not easy because the Italian league is very demanding,” he concluded.

With Calhanoglu still in the pits, Zielinski is likely to start in Saturday’s home clash against Atalanta.

After falling to a narrow defeat in last weekend’s Milan derby, Chivu’s team will be out to make history against Atalanta.

Indeed, the Nerazzurri could beat La Dea eight times in a row for the first time since the mid-1960s.
