According to Bournemouth Echo, ex-AFC Bournemouth midfielder Carl Preston is set to sign for Broadstone FC, who play in Dorset Senior Division Three.
He featured a couple of times in League Two for the Cherries in December 2008. After his apprenticeship he joined Weymouth on a one year deal in 2009.
He soon moved to Poole Town in the Wessex League, amassing over 250 appearances and 70 goals under Tom Killick then Broadstone’s current manager Callum Brooks.
Preston left the Dolphins in 2015, later spending a spell at Wimborne Town until the end of the 2016/17 season.
Broadstone are fourth on 26 points and have games in hand after reaching the Dorset Junior Cup Final, to be played at the County Ground on Tuesday 12th May, with promotion in their sights.
“I’ve been out of football for a while now, focusing on my family and business, but that itch never goes away.”
“When Cal approached me about joining a good group of lads enjoying local football, I was keen to go along and see what they’re about.”
“Having had a few sessions with them, I’m already back in love with the game and looking forward to helping them climb the divisions however I can.”
