Emmanuel Adebayor has said Viktor Gyokeres must score another 10-12 Premier League goals if Arsenal are to win the title this season.
Gyokeres signed for Arsenal from Sporting Lisbon in a £54m deal and has scored 15 goals in 36 games across all competitions. The Swedish striker reached 10 league goals at the weekend after netting a double in the North London Derby win over Tottenham.
After a slow start to the season, Gyokeres has started to find form since the turn of the year. His eight goals in all competitions in 2026 is a leading total among all Premier League players.
However, former Arsenal forward Adebayor has argued that Gyokeres will need to double his Premier League haul if the Gunners are to beat Manchester City to the title.
Arsenal currently hold a five-point lead over City, having played a game more. Mikel Arteta’s side are bidding to end a 22-year wait for the Premier League this season.
“This is the time we need a striker who can bring the league to the club. It’s him, if they are to win the league, he needs to score at least 10 more goals until the end of the season to win the league,” Adebayor told Premier League Productions.
“If he scores 10/12 goals this season, you can’t win the league with your top striker scoring just 10/12 goals.”
