Recently-departed Barcelona striker Marc Guiu has seen his name take its place front and centre in the headlines across all of Europe late on Thursday.
Unfortunately for the Spaniard, however, this has come for altogether less than positive reasons…
Premier League giants Chelsea marked their return to action a short time ago, playing host to Swiss outfit Servette in the Europa Conference League.
When all was said and done, Enzo Maresca’s troops got their campaign up and running, courtesy of a 2-0 triumph.
But for the aforementioned Guiu, it will mark an evening that he will likely be keen to forget as soon as possible.
Afforded a starting berth at Stamford Bridge, the 18-year-old was afforded the most glaring opportunity imaginable to open his account in Chelsea colours during the game’s 2nd-half.
After a mistake on the part of Servette’s no.1, Guiu, in fact, was faced with an open goal.
Incredibly, however, so badly did the Barcelona youth product manage to skew his ensuing effort, that it was kept out, before Guiu also failed to finish on the rebound.
A look at the moment in question can be seen below:
