Former Benfica full-back Luisinho praised his son, also named Luisinho, after the Braga midfielder marked his debut with an assist in a 2-1 defeat at Santa Clara in Liga Portugal Betclic.

The youngster started for the first team on matchday 31 and set up Rodrigo Zalazar to give Braga a first-half lead. He completed the full 90 minutes before the Azorean side turned it around.

"He told us once he was already in the Azores. We were delighted, and we told him to go calmly, without fear, and above all to be happy. That was all we wanted," he told A Bola.

"Despite Braga's defeat, he still had a good game. He made the assist for the goal, which adds to his value, and that is typical of him because he makes good decisions in the final third."

"If he keeps the humility he has and his feet firmly on the ground, he can go far. He has a lot of quality, he is on the right path."
