With the EFL season over and the Premier League nearing its finale, transfer talk is intensifying around Wolves, West Bromwich Albion, Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa.

The Daily Record claims West Brom have had multiple seven-figure bids for Falkirk forward Barney Stewart rejected, with the club weighing up whether to return with an improved offer. Stewart’s 10 SPL goals in the second half of the season have put him on Scotland boss Steve Clarke’s radar ahead of the World Cup.

At Wolves, Joao Gomes has been heavily linked with Atletico Madrid. A departure has long been expected, with a fee of around £39m reported, and talks were said to be under way before accelerating over the weekend.

Former Wolves boss Vitor Pereira, axed after an awful start then back in the Premier League with Nottingham Forest, helped deliver survival and a run to the last four of the Conference League. He is reportedly keen on Wolves pair Ladislav Krejci and Mateus Mane, with Krejci’s loan due to become permanent after a set number of games and Mane attracting sustained interest after a breakthrough year.

Wolves could also benefit from a sell-on clause if former winger Chiquinho, now at Alverca after an injury-hit spell following a £3m move to Molineux, is targeted by Sporting CP. He is said to be one of two options under consideration.

At Villa Park, Unai Emery is determined to keep Youri Tielemans and views him as central to his plans. The midfielder has impressed since arriving on a free, and while English clubs are reportedly circling, Emery is prepared to resist summer approaches.
