The German oversees the day-to-day running of Red Bull’s entire operations in football, with the drinks brand owning a number of clubs across the world.

Their primary clubs are RB Salzburg and RB Leipzig, but they also own the likes of New York Red Bulls in the United States, and RB Omiya Ardija in Japan, among others.

The 59-year-old’s role involves being a part of the recruitment process for managers at each of these teams.

While there have been no signs of him stepping into a coaching role himself, he still maintains a presence in football through this Red Bull project.

However, Klopp has also been linked with the German national team following their elimination from the World Cup in the round of 32 to Paraguay.

It has been confirmed by Red Bull Omiya Ardija that Narcis Pelach has become their new first team head coach.

The former Stoke City boss has taken on the role, with the team currently fourth in the J2 League group B after 18 games played.

The Japanese second division is currently on break due to the World Cup, and they will return to action on 8 August for the second half of the campaign.

Pelach is taking on his first role in management since his dismissal from the Potters in December 2024.

The 37-year-old was in charge of the Championship side for just 19 games after being appointed in September 2024.

He also worked at Huddersfield Town, and even held the interim head coach role for two games in February 2023.

Pelach was a coach at Norwich City before moving to the Terriers, working alongside David Wagner.

It has been reported by Fabrizio Romano that Klopp was heavily involved in the appointment process, and the pair will now work together to try and improve RB Omija Ardija.

The former Liverpool boss will be keeping a close eye on Pelach’s progress as the new manager.

Red Bull will want Pelach to progress the team with the Red Bull style of play, with heavy pressing, and will also want to see strong development from their most exciting talents.

Pelach has reportedly agreed a two-year contract with the J2 League team.

Working at Red Bull is a big opportunity for Narcis Pelach

It didn’t go particularly well for Pelach at Stoke given he only lasted 19 games in charge, but this is an exciting opportunity for his career.

Fans of the Potters, as well as Huddersfield and Norwich, will be keeping a close eye on his progress, as doing well at Omija Ardija could lead to bigger things at one of Red Bull’s more important projects.

The company have shown in the past that they are willing to hire from within, so this could lead him back to a role with one of RB Salzburg or Leipzig, if he can impress people like Klopp.

However, if things don’t go well, then that could essentially put his hopes of being a head coach to bed.
