Ex-Liverpool coach Klopp unphased by Man City charges: "I haven't given it much thought" | OneFootball

Jürgen Klopp had little to say about Manchester City's financial charges when asked about the case during Germany's latest press conference.

Klopp seemed unphased by whether he would retrospectively get a couple more Premier League titles added to his time at Liverpool.

“Of course I've heard about that, but I haven't given it much thought. I can only wait and see," the 59-year-old said with a hearty laugh. 

"I have big respect for Pep Guardiola and City's style of football; they played fantastic football and were a top class opponent for us.

"If any sanctions are handed out, I have nothing to do with it; I'll wait and see. I'm far from preparing for a title or anything like that.

"I'm absolutely fine with what we've achieved in Liverpool. We fought hard on the pitch. I can't say any more about that. 

“I don't know the details [of the financial breaches] and I'm not interested in them,” Klopp added, putting a seal on the debate. 

During his nine-year reign as Liverpool coach, Klopp's Reds finished as runners-up to the Citizens twice in both 2018-19 and 2021-22. 

Should the hypothetical redistribution happen, Klopp's tally of Premier League successes would rise from one to three titles.
