Liverpool parted with several figures from their 2024/25 Premier League title win. One of them has just hit a new low, however, after deciding to leave Anfield.

Liverpool saw a mass exodus after winning the Premier League title last season. A lot of that was deliberate, with player sales bringing about £200m in order to fund an unprecedented summer.

The Reds spent over £450m on new stars, twice breaking their transfer record. It was all part of the plan and it's one that they hope will establish Liverpool as perennial title contenders for years to come.

However, not all exits were by choice. Trent Alexander-Arnold, for instance, rejected several new contract offers in order to push through a move to Real Madrid.

We'll see how that works out for him.

But that wasn't all. Johnny Heitinga, an assistant to Arne Slot, stepped away from his role and take the head coaching job at Ajax. It was an understandable move, with the Dutchman returning to the club where he starred as a player and held an interim head coach role a few years ago.

And that's all been a problem for Liverpool. The Reds have two players on loan at Ajax as things continue to fall apart. Viteslav Jaros started the season as first-choice goalkeeper there but since lost his place - it's unclear why.

James McConnell, one of the brightest midfield talents at Liverpool, is also on loan there. He's struggled badly for minutes, however.

Now it's all over. Ajax lost heavily at home to Galatasaray on Wednesday evening, Victor Osimhen scoring a hat trick as the Turkish side won 3-0.
