Ex-Mainz winger Richter to join Darmstadt on free transfer

Marco Richter is on the verge of returning to SV Darmstadt 98, according to exclusive information from Sky Germany.

Final negotiations are currently underway between the attacking player and the Lilies over a contract until 2028.

However, the pay-TV channel notes that a complete agreement has not yet been reached by the two parties involved.

Richter was already on loan at Darmstadt in the previous season, where he returned 2 goals and 3 assists in 30 second division games.

Considered surplus to requirements, his contract with Mainz was officially terminated on Tuesday, 1 September.

The 28-year-old can therefore still sign with a club without a transfer fee even now, after the deadline day in Germany.
