Inter Milan wingback Matteo Darmian will miss tomorrow’s Serie A match against Cagliari through injury.
This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews., They report that the Italian international is targeting a return in the Supercoppa Italiana against Atalanta.
Darmian has been recovering from a knee problem.
This came about as the result of a blow that he took to the knee during a Coppa Italia win over Udinese last week.
Darmian had started in that match. He started on the right of the back three.
Darmian was not able to feature during Inter’s Serie A win over Como last Monday.
However, the problem is not overly serious. He should be able to return to the pitch soon.
Darmian will not be rushed back for tomorrow’s match, however.
Inter travel to Sardinia to take on Cagliari in their final Serie A match of 2024.
And Darmian is still dealing with some discomfort in his knee. Therefore, he will not play any part in tomorrow’s match.
That is a blow for Inter coach Simone Inzaghi considering that the coach is also missing the likes of Francesco Acerbi and Benjamin Pavard due to injury.
However, Darmian will aim to be fit for Inter’s Supercoppa Italiana clash with Atalanta next week.
