Ex-Marseille winger Jonathan Rowe joins Atalanta on loan with conditional obligation to buy | OneFootball

Atalanta have signed English winger Jonathan Rowe from Bologna on a season-long loan.

The club said in a statement that the deal carries an obligation to buy, which will apply if certain conditions are met.

The move is worth €5m for the loan, with the obligation to buy set at €30m if triggered. Bologna had signed him for just under €20m on a four-year contract.

Olympique de Marseille have retained a 10% sell-on clause. Rowe left Marseille a year ago after a dressing-room altercation with Adrien Rabiot that led to a suspension.

In his first Serie A campaign he made 43 appearances for Bologna, scoring eight goals and providing four assists. The 23-year-old remains an England Under-21 international.
