Zielinski has spent the international beak away with the Polish national team.

But now, the 30-year-old is back in training for Inter.

Zielinski is working to cement a place for himself in the Nerazzurri lineup. That could be from the start, or from the bench.

Thus far, the former Napoli midfielder has yet to see a minute of action this season.

Zielinski was not part of Inter’s squad for their Serie A opener away to Genoa. This was due to a thigh strain that he’d sustained in preseason.

Then, the Pole was an unused substitute in subsequent wins against Lecce and Atalanta.

But all signs point to Zielinski finally taking to the pitch in an Inter shirt in Serie A in the team’s next match. The Nerazzurri make the short trip to face Lombard rivals Monza this weekend.

According to the Gazzetta, the impression is that Zielinski is brimming with motivation.

The Polish international had an interesting international break. In both his national team’s Nations League, he was tested in a new role in holding midfield.

It remains to be seen whether that could be a position for Zielinski in the future at Inter.

But one thing that’s certain is that the 30-year-old is itching to get on the pitch.

Zielinski is now fully match-sharp. He has fully put his summer muscle problem behind him and played a couple fixtures with Poland.

And Monza looks to be the perfect opportunity for Zielinski.

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will almost certainly rotate the team significantly.

The coach will be hoping to give the players he trusts most as much rest as possible ahead of matches against Manchester City and AC Milan.
