Former Parma manager Giuseppe Iachini has hailed Inter Milan starlet Ange-Yoan Bonny as a future champion.

During his recent interview via FCInterNews, Iachini backed the 22-year-old to become one of the world’s best strikers.

Beppe Iachini coached Ange-Yoan Bonny at Parma in the 2021/22 season in Serie B.

In fact, he launched the Frenchman’s career at Ennio Tardini long before Cristian Chivu discovered the youngster’s talent.

Indeed, Parma signed Bonny from Chateauroux in the summer of 2021, with Iachini on the bench.

Despite failing to score in his first season in Emilia-Romagna, Bonny showed glimpses of his potential.

However, he thrived on the grand stage last term, convincing Inter to lure him to San Siro for €25 million.

Furthermore, he has repaid the club’s trust in the early stages of the 2025/26 campaign.

With four goals and one assist, he has emerged as the best backup striker in Serie A.

“I had no doubt that Bonny would do great things at Inter,” Iachini said. “He impressed me right away, so much so that I started him in Serie B with Parma when he was only 18.

“Ange feels and sees the goal like few others.

“That’s why I was convinced he would have a great career, and it doesn’t surprise me to see him even more decisive at Inter than he was at Parma.

“When the quality around him rises, he excels and performs at an even higher level.

“That’s why he’s making a bigger difference now compared to when he was playing for a team fighting to avoid relegation.”

Asked whether Bonny is better as a center-forward or a second striker, Iachini replied: “He can play both roles very well.

“In the box, he has the physical presence to lead the line on his own and the composure to finish chances.

“However, at the same time, his pace and one-on-one ability allow him to thrive alongside another striker.

“Chivu will decide how to use him from game to game. I’ll just say this: the closer Bonny is to the goal, the more lethal he becomes.”

Furthermore, Iachini described Bonny as “a wonderful kid, full of humility and a strong work ethic.

“He always trained at maximum intensity to improve himself,” he added. “Ange doesn’t just have talent. He has the right mentality to become a champion.

“After every training session, he stayed on the pitch for at least half an hour to work on attacking movements and improve his finishing coordination.

“Not everyone does that.”

Adrian Bernabe has been on Inter’s radar for over a year, though the Nerazzurri have never made an official contact with Parma.

However, the young playmaker could be an exciting option for the club in the future.

“In terms of characteristics, Bernabe would be perfect for Inter as an alternative to Calhanoglu,” Iachini said.

“Few players have his clean technique and quality on the ball. He’s a crystalline talent who technically has everything to become a top player.

“He arrived from Manchester City as an attacking midfielder, but I moved him in front of the defense, where he can truly excel.”

Finally, Iachini named Inter the top favorites to win the Scudetto this season.

However, he also urged the Nerazzurri not to take anything for granted, especially with AC Milan vying for their 20th league title.

Without the distraction of European football, the Rossoneri could be a genuine threat to Inter’s title aspirations.

“Based on how they play and the depth of their squad, I’d say Inter,” Iachini stated. “However, watch out for Milan.
