Arsenal put themselves in pole position to reach the League Cup final after beating Chelsea 3-2 in the first-leg of their semi-final tie on Wednesday.
Ben White, Viktor Gyokeres and Martin Zubimendi were on target for the Gunners, but Alejandro Garnacho struck twice to keep the Blues in the tie.
Arsenal are alive in all four major competitions in 2025-26, but Troy Deeney told CBS Sports they could still finish up empty-handed.
The Gunners have finished second in the Premier League in each of the previous three seasons. However, they look to have made huge strides forward this campaign.
Arsenal bolstered their squad in the summer by bringing in Zubimendi, Gyokeres, Noni Madueke and Eberechi Eze.
Zubimendi, Madueke and Eze have hit the ground running, while Gyokeres has also shown flashes of brilliance recently.
Arsenal boast a perfect record in the Champions League this term, and have lost only two matches in all competitions.
They sit six points clear at the top of the Premier League, and are also going well in the two cup competitions.
Given their performances and results, Deeney’s comments look wide of the mark.
