Ovie Ejaria is a free agent once more and has put out a come-and-get-me post on LinkedIn outlining his availability.

The 28-year-old was once regarded as one of the best young stars coming out of the Liverpool academy, cutting his teeth in the EFL at Reading to the point where some confident Royals fans were stating he was better than then-QPR starlet Ebere Eze.

It's safe to say that, six years on from those debates, that's been settled pretty convincingly. A lot of the shine on Ejaria's early years was wiped during the COVID-19 years, and for reasons still unknown today, he massively fell out of favour until his release from Reading in December 2023.

After making eight appearances in La Liga last season with Real Oviedo, he's now a free agent once more.

It's common amongst semi-professional footballers who are looking for clubs to almost advertise themselves on social platforms.

Ejaria has taken that approach on LinkedIn, with a video of him playing against Athletico Madrid and a caption stating his location, past clubs and positions.

"I’m keeping the details brief for now, but if there’s an opportunity or you know of a club looking for a midfielder (6, 8 & 10) or someone who can play as a left winger, please feel free to DM me," he wrote.

With 135 Championship appearances to his name and time in the Spanish top-flight under his belt, too, here are two EFL clubs who could look to perhaps take a punt on Ejaria for the upcoming campaign.

We're only a month into the campaign, but returning Blackburn Rovers boss Tony Mowbray is already at the point where he feels he needs to cut back on training sessions to "protect the players" from injury.

It's been a ruthless opening to the Championship season at Ewood Park, with already a plethora of injuries throughout the squad, something which wasn't helped by a very uneventful transfer window with just three new players arriving.

FLW's Rovers fan pundit feels that the lack of incomings has let Mowbray down massively, so an influx of free agents between now and January would go a long way to smoothing things out before the winter window opens.

Attacking midfielder Ryotaro Ito looks to be closing in on a move, following a 10-goal, seven-assist campaign in Belgium, which is a promising signing.

Ejaria, while needing to prove himself, would definitely have the opportunities to do so, given Rovers' current squad situation.

Plymouth Argyle

Back in January 2024, Ejaria reportedly went on trial with Plymouth Argyle after he left Reading. Two and a half years later, he could find himself moving to Devon to help provide some apt depth to Tom Cleverley's side.

It may be more likely that, if the 28-year-old were to return to the EFL, it would be to a side in League One, given his sheer lack of football in the past few years, and to back up numerous positions, he could be a helpful addition at Home Park.

Having Ejaria as a second option to plug gaps where needed if injuries occur, especially out wide, where Tom Cleverley is a little lighter in depth than some of his third-tier peers, could be useful.
