Arrigo Sacchi doesn’t see AC Milan and Juventus as teams capable of challenging Inter Milan’s title credentials in Serie A.

In his recent interview with Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, Sacchi hailed the progress the two underperforming giants have made lately.

Paulo Fonseca’s early tenure at San Siro has been a disaster.

Despite Milan’s promising run in the UEFA Champions League, they’re already out of contention for the Scudetto.

Indeed, the Rossoneri trail leaders Atalanta by a mammoth 14 points.

Moreover, they languish five points adrift of sixth-placed Juventus, meaning European qualification altogether is in jeopardy.

As for Juventus, their notorious inability to turn draws into victories has drastically derailed their title ambitions.

For context, Thiago Motta’s men have drawn a league-high ten matches this season.

Therefore, they can consider themselves lucky for lagging only nine points behind the Scudetto pace.

However, Sacchi insists both teams have recently shown signs of improvement.

Arrigo Sacchi Slams AC Milan & Juventus Amid Failed Attempt to Dethrone Inter

“For the past few weeks, I’ve been following Juventus and Milan with curiosity, both in the league and in the Champions League,” Sacchi said.

“When I saw their direct clash live at San Siro, it left me with a bad impression: a match with very few emotions.

“However, since then, I’ve noticed that something is moving.

“Coaches Motta and Fonseca are trying to impose their ideas, and the players are showing they are willing to embrace them.

“It’s definitely a step forward,” he added.

Despite praising Milan and Juventus’ recent rise, Sacchi doubts their capacity to draw level with Inter.

“Gradually, with their own timing and methods, Fonseca and Motta are rising.

“They may struggle to reach the levels of Atalanta, Inter, and Napoli.

“But I can confidently say that they will be positive protagonists in the second half of the season.”
