Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has returned to British football, signing for Celtic on a short-term deal to the end of the season. The agreement includes an option to extend his stay in Scotland by a further year.

According to Daily Echo, the 32-year-old has been without a club since leaving Besiktas in August and has not played since May.

A Saints academy graduate, he made 43 appearances, scoring 10 and providing nine assists, before a big-money move to Arsenal in 2011.

He said talks with the manager made the move feel like the perfect fit and that he believes he can come in and help the lads.

Oxlade-Chamberlain added that the manager outlined the club’s expectations, what it means to play there and the targets, and that he will push him, which he said matches the environment he identifies with and needs.
