Former Sunderland striker Ross Stewart will leave Southampton this summer after the Championship club confirmed his departure on their retained list.
The club said in a statement that the 2024 promotion winner made 33 appearances in 2025/26, scoring 11, and that a contract option was not taken up. Stewart departs with 50 outings for the Saints and 12 goals.
The Scotland international is currently away at the World Cup. He was part of the squad that reached last month's play-off final.
Stewart joined Southampton in 2023 after a fee of about £10 million was paid to Sunderland. An injury-hit spell limited his minutes, although he showed flashes of form after returning to fitness earlier this year.
During his time on Wearside he became a firm favourite, scoring 40 in 80 first-team appearances. He netted at Wembley in the 2022 League One play-off final.
His next move is yet to be determined.
