Former Wolves forward Jon Dadi Bodvarsson has called time on his playing career at 34.

In a post on X, he confirmed the decision, recalling a love of the game since childhood and offering thanks to managers, coaches, team-mates, staff, supporters and his family.

He joined from FC Kaiserslautern in 2016 and spent one season at Molineux, scoring three in 48 appearances across all competitions. He scored on debut in a 2-2 draw at Rotherham in August 2016. He netted again later that month in a 3-1 win against Birmingham City, and his third arrived in a 3-1 defeat to Bristol City in April 2017.

Earlier in his career he played for Selfoss and Viking in Iceland, before spells with Reading, Bolton Wanderers, Wrexham and Burton Albion.

Bodvarsson finished with 103 goals in 509 club games, and four in 64 appearances for Iceland.
