After the restart, John Stegeman introduced Tonny Vilhena and Maxim Dekker, and Willem II pressed. Jaden Slory was denied by Stijn van Gassel high to his right (81.), and Nathan Tjoe-A-On drew another stop in the second minute of second half stoppage time.

Yegoian sealed it on the break with a rising finish into the top left after van Gassel's assist (85.). The visitors' cutting edge told, with six efforts on target from 13 attempts.

Willem II saw plenty of the ball but struggled to convert their pressure, registering 16 attempts yet only two on target.

Next, Willem II visit AZ. Excelsior travel to NEC Nijmegen.
