Arne Slot's job has felt like it's been on the line for the last few months.

The Dutchman may have brought the Premier League title back to Anfield last season but this term, things have not worked out.

Whether that's because of the number of injuries they've suffered or due to the lack of cohesion among their ranks, nothing has worked out the way that Liverpool would have wanted.

That's why in the upcoming summer transfer window it would hardly be surprising to see several new faces added to their ranks with one rumoured target even admitting that the Reds have a "genuine interest" in signing him.

Liverpool want to sign Dario Osorio this summer

Now that Mohamed Salah is leaving, Liverpool need to source a replacement for the Egyptian King as soon as possible.

He's been one of the Reds' best ever players with his performances often single-handedly winning them games.

So, whoever comes in to fill the void left by the 33-year-old will certainly have some big boots to fill.

But, since Liverpool's recent transfer regime has been to sign young players with plenty of potential, it's unclear whether who they bring in this summer will be able to instantly plug that gap.

This is a scary prospect but that clearly hasn't stopped the Anfield outfit from scanning the market for potential targets with Dario Osorio even being told that Liverpool have a "genuine interest" in signing him.

That is, according to an interview that the winger held with TalkSPORT when he said that his agent told him that the Reds were interested in acquiring his services.

"I don’t know much about that [Liverpool's interest]," he said.

"My agent tells me when there’s genuine interest, and to be honest, I don’t really follow social media on those topics.

"As I said before, I always dream of playing in the best stadiums in the world against the best teams."

David Osorio could be a smart option for Liverpool to explore

Even though it's going to be almost impossible for Liverpool to sign a direct replacement for Salah, the Anfield outfit need to give it their best shot.

The 2025-26 campaign has been a massive let-down for everyone involved with the Anfield outfit and unless some highly talented players join, they could find themselves in the same, or even worse situation next term.

Osorio won't be a name that many fans will have heard of but the FC Midtjylland attacker has already contributed to 17 goals across all competitions despite only being 22 years old.

The Chilean has also been used as a striker this term with the Superliga club heavily relying on him to win them games.

Osorio would only cost Liverpool around £12 million to sign this summer and, while he may have only just had a taste of European football, his ability to create something out of nothing and get almost all of his final third movements perfect make him an ideal candidate for Liverpool.

Buying Osorio would also enable the Anfield outfit to spend their money elsewhere which would massively improve their chances of getting back to their best.

And, he's already been dubbed an "exceptional" player which proves how good he already is.
